On 18 Oct 2025, The US saw one of the largest nation-wide 'protests' ever coordinated in the modern era. The last time such grass-rooted anti-establishment gatherings saw more numbers was in the latter 1960s during the Civil Rights and the anti-war movement against US combat involvement in Vietnam. The groups associated with the "No Kings" movement, their signage and messages polished and aligned hit the streets in a weeks-long planned day of protest. Per their website, this protest activism imparts
"A core principle behind all No Kings events (emphasis added) is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree"
Ted Rall, a famous L.A. Times cartoonist and columnist who was famously fired for repeatedly hurting the feelings of one LAPD Chief Charlie Beck over repeated cartoons relating to his incompetence said of political and social protests declared as "events" succinctly
"If you file for a parade permit or let the police pen you up in a ridiculous “free speech zone” or promise that you’ll be nonviolent no matter what, your street protest will be drowned out by the clinking of glasses and the popping of champagne corks in the salons of the ruling class"
In short, an "event" is not a protest. Protests are large, messy affairs that are organized possessing no centralized leadership, so it can nimbly and effectively coordinate high concentrations of people for demonstrations across multiple geographic locations of effective rebellion . Said protest should be ample in number (preferably in the the tens of millions given the current fascism spreading and taking hold country-wide) and is meant to be both verbally and physically confrontational to local law enforcement , centers of primary corporate commerce, local and federal government. Its primary goal is to scare the living shit out of the oligarchic tyrants, their purchased representatives and minions in government whom are attempting to socially and economically oppress the people et al. Real protester organizers, union groups and everyday people would not allow corporations, private interests or billionaires to co-opt their movement, and would want to nurture its resistance to be authentic , organic, focused on tangible and concrete issues of social and economic redress by way of disruption , accepting monies only from the people themselves to meaningfully continue its demonstration of defiance against establishment harm. True protests are not partisan and invite ALL comers, as the protest organizers and groups know their is great power is in numbers, and inclusivity is key.
No Kings is none of this , as they are a centralized entity requiring registration and are sponsored by several members of the billionaire donor class. Fronted by the master performative progressive curmudgeon coward Senator Bernie Sanders and the new establishment/ Zionist darling and presumptive frontrunner for the 2028 Presidential election Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, this movement is strictly put in service by the Democratic National Committee so as to give the illusion of resistance to Trumps persona and his pronounced fascistic ambitions. More directly, it is simply Trump derangement being given a venue for open-air theatrical performance replete with visuals , effigies and the usual accoutrement of shirts , hats, flags and costumes echoing its primary slogan. It is noticeably devoid of any anti-genocide messaging , no Palestinian nor Ukrainian flags being flown by those demanding peace in both countries the US is conducting or supporting a genocide and/or proxy war with, no calls or demands for the end of the abhorrent and regressive Citizens United vs. FEC which has given the US a far more regressive, corrupted and monied electoral process. There is no visible expression or protest of the continuing corruption from both parties deliberately stripping the social safety net, deferring universal/ single-payer healthcare, workers rights & living wage in favor of congressional members of congress receiving personal financial advantages ( a la insider stock trading), and being directly handled by undocumented foreign agents such as AIPAC.
It places no defined , controversial, or uncomfortable demands of the establishment that was under the environment of a particularly crushing and regressive government shutdown where runaway inflation has began an acute recession amidst mass unemployment in the private sector , coupled by the Trump administration's deliberately reckless wholesale slashing of government workers from the payroll, together with the number of homeless Americans crossing the 36 million mark is not threatening , demanding , or meaningful, as it was based solely on the superficial construct of Trump-psychosis and the desultory engagement of the usual tired tropes of 'democracy' consisting of 'no kings' 'Dump Trump' and the multi-casting performative theatrics of making hallow aspirations about the Constitution and its preservation against Trump.
It wasn't a true protest, and asked nothing from its participants in redress. In fact, despite its multi-city participation ( most of it was in prominently democrat majority held cities), it was , actually sedate and compliant as a result. Only 36 people were arrested in totality nationwide. 36, out of an estimated 7 million participants were deemed to have been troublesome enough to place cuffs and tossed in jail. It was a non-threatening spectacle of théâtral animé of generic partisan homogeny in costume nation-wide, accompanied with permits, permission and time-limits on 'free speech ' expression so as not to agitate local governments at work nor disrupt centers of commerce from conducting trade.
Looking more closely at the 'partners' section of 'No Kings' website, you see a pattern between the 501 PACs and groups listed , with one of the more predominant organizations and it state-level subsidiaries being that of Indivisible , a group that as of April 2025 has received 7.6 million dollars from an organization called Open Society Foundations a grantmaking group started in 1993 by one very-well known billionaire: George Soros. Upon further research it is discovered the organization, now directly under the charge of one of his sons , was inspired by Karl Popper and his philosophical observation on 'liberal democracies'. This seems innocuous, even positively beneficial with its claims on its website as being "work to build vibrant and inclusive democracies whose governments are accountable to their people." Scott Bessant, a Trump appointee who currently heads the US Treasury, recently made the proclamation that “I will tell you that Charlie (Kirk's) death is like a domestic 9/11,” further alluding to the "No Kings" movement in further exaggerated and unsubstantiated rhetoric, "Many of these organizations have been financed by nonprofits, and it’s gonna stop. And we are going to, as they always say, follow the money...When you see these groups where all the signs match, they have hundreds of the same umbrellas that they’re using after they cause the mayhem, they have the same lasers that they’re using to blind our police force. How are they constructed? Because this takes a lot of money.” What is the irony in his Trump-aligned "radical left" conspiracy with regards to Kirk's assassination and the No King 'events' is that Bessent himself was once a direct acolyte to an oligarch .
The same sponsor of these pseudo-protests : George Soros.
It is common practice for billionaires to play two sides against the middle, "hedging their bets" on candidates and movements that are diametrically opposed partisans in name only . This ensures success that their preferred polices are pushed through and that the ROI is guaranteed for further capitalization of assets and profit are actioned by both "sides" of the uni-party. Trumps lambasting of Soros in years past was strictly performative to placate the wide swath of MAGA supporters and their hatred of anything related to Soros (conspiratorial or not), as Bessent solicited Trump for the Secretary of the Treasury position over several visits to Mar-E-Lago last year. Trump was acutely aware of Bessent's background as Soros' protege. It is precisely why he selected him for one of the US governments most powerful position. He is a creature of neo-liberal Corporate central power, just like Soros himself.
Another 'partnership' PAC listed on the "No Kings" webpage beyond the usual suspects of the corporate left such as the ACLU & Planned Parenthood, includes the League of Conservation Voters and Indivisible as well , all of whom are supported by the Berger Action Fund. This fund comes under the purview of the Wyss Foundation. This subsidiary arrangement between the two had to be made so that Burger Foundation could funnel monies into PACs in the US on behalf of Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss , a non-American Citizen billionaire not registered as a foreign agent with the US State Department who has to conduct his 'activism' for his multiple environmental philanthropic groups by way of electronic funds transfer between his accounts in Switzerland , funneling through his New York offices. Wyss sold his long-held stake of Synthes to Johnson &Johnson in 2012 for US$97.4 million , three years after 4 of his chief executives were sentenced to prison for using an untested calcium-phosphate-based bone cement on human patients without FDA approval, killing 3 people. Recently, on November 6th of this year Wyss ran afoul of the Nebraska Attorney Generals office over his 'dark money' donations to multiple liberal/democratic PACs within the state in support of multiple state ballot initiatives. The suit being levied by State AG Mike Hilgers also references Wyss' 2023 US$72 million dollar donation towards multiple Democrat- aligned PACs and candidates , including Joe Biden's presidential run as evidence of illegally donating to political causes he is not authorized to conduct under Nebraska law LB843, which has outlawed any foreign national from directly or indirectly funding ballot questions in the state.
And these two billionaires are your primary donors to this 'movement', a pretentious, hollow, non-offensive and well adorned sideshow. George Soros himself famously called his Open Society Foundation "political philanthropy". Back in 1990 he planted a branch of this think tank in Kiev, Ukraine just after the fall of the Soviet Union. By 2012 , he had multiple Ukrainian politicians who were schooled in his "university" that held positions of significant influence throughout their government, so that by the time the 2014 Maidan coup was orchestrated by his cohort within the Obama Administration, Victoria Nuland could overthrow its pro-Russian, democratically-elected government in favor of an installed US puppet regime. The same George Soros, working in tandem with NATO to agitate the Russian Federation by encroaching borders of former Soviet states, breaking the promise by the State Department in 1990 to not move further one inch eastward, which goes on to this day, with Ukraine dragged into a horrid proxy war of attrition.
These two billionaires are funding your 'resistance' to 'King Trump'. Deliberately hollow , non threatening , non-aggressive, and undemanding , as some of the demands might require either one or both of these psychopathic narcissists to recant some of their activities. And there is absolutely no way they will be made to pack up their toys and go home.
It is a further reflection of the morally bankrupt , self-interested, and feckless Democratic National Committee that has been neutered by Wall Street. Since Kamal Harris' failed hollow campaign, there has not been a single, concrete, progressive policy proffered from any of its Senators, Congressmen or candidates.
Because the billionaire backers don't want the lowly peasant's to own anything.
"No Kings" is a shallow, irrelevant, superficial pretentious storefront of a 'protest', backed by most PACS fueled by a few billionaires who need to steer the base from asking for anything involving class equality, worker protections, living wages, demanding an end to the US sponsored genocide in Gaza by Israel, cutting defense spending by 30%, demand the immediate and ceasing of funding wholesale to Israel as a client state, stopping the unconstitutional fascist acceleration of military forces being utilized by the current Administration as a paramilitary police force in American cities alongside the masked thuggery of ICE, who also operate outside the law, and reinstatement of Medicare coverage to 2010 levels (as a start).
Because the billionaire backers don't want the lowly serfs demands to shorten their ROI.
A protest is not a protest when it fully paid for by oligarchical interests. It is only pageantry meant to act as an extravagant , well-rehearsed magic act. The illusion of power given to the people and their well-centralized and choreographed milieu of Miss Liberty costumes, beautifully embossed signage repeating the same, singular repertoire of anti-Trump defiance on display. Manufactured 'revolution' with the same standard arial shots of large groups of people configured into a group spelling No Kings on a beachhead is the antithesis of resistance. It is a cynical movement of placation masterfully conducted to complete homogeny of messaging and devoid of any temporal or conflagratory 'protest' language and demand for remedy through policy. A partisan parade which keep the donors happy. as it does not direct them to action and account. Its celebrates one oligarchical faction hatred of another oligarchical favorite politician, and nothing more, bringing the mindless, feckless, angry and ignorant 'liberal' diehards to assemble in the millions, and demand nothing in return.
No Kings is not a thing. No Kings is nothing, and all while your country burns into the ground by the Oligarchs who own you.
